Kelly Morrison
Instructor

Kelly Morrison's background is comprised of more than 12 years of progressive technical and business experience in IT consulting, training, and project management. Her knowledge and methodologies have developed through years of network communications work, culminating in a rich set of credentials with a concentration in information security.

Initially a hardware technician in the days of 386 systems, Kelly rose through the ranks and established herself as the lead technical engineer at IKON Office Solutions in Central North Carolina. Working with Novell, Unix and Microsoft systems she led projects focused on integration and migration of network operating systems. These projects directly involved design and configuration of network infrastructure for small, medium and large organizations, specializing in heterogeneous integration. She developed an emphasis on data and access security including fault tolerant solutions, data backup and recovery. Further, prior to the mainstreaming of commercial firewall technology, Kelly was designing and implementing cutting edge packet filters, proxy servers, and additional network security solutions.

In the mid 2000's, as more and more organizations shifted towards MS products and an Active Directory-based environment, Kelly began focusing her efforts on Active Directory architecture and design. She has numerous years of hands on experience with the design and implementation of group policies, secure AD-Integrated DNS, Network Access Policies and internal network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Bringing with her skills including the evaluation and configuration of perimeter defense systems, proxy servers, and intrusion detection systems, Kelly has maintained a long list of certifications including MCSE (NT 4.0, 2000, 2003), MCITP EA/SA (Server 2008), PMP and CISSP.

Throughout the years of providing consulting for both private and government organizations, Kelly maintained the pursuit of her life-long passion: providing quality training to IT professionals. Kelly has provided training to companies throughout the US and Europe for over 9 years and was selected as one of the top 75 trainers through a world-wide training evaluation program. She expanded this passion for training into courseware development and led two major IT Training providers through an extensive overhaul of their course material. This project led to a follow-up project involving the development of a Quality Assurance program providing metrics to ensure excellence in the classroom.

Lenora Holmsten
Instructor

Lenora Holmsten is an accomplished project manager with over 15 years experience, primarily for one of the top global insurance carriers in the world. She launched her career handling claims automation projects, and from there progressed to working in Human Resources on HR Initiatives. Followed that, she became part of her company’s North American Enterprise PMO, handling multi-million dollar global projects and programs; and developing and implementing best-in-class project management processes, practices and procedures. She carries with her a long track record of success in shepherding projects from inception to completion, and building successful project teams.

Lenora has a passion for continued life-long learning. She earned PMP credentials over 7 years ago while simultaneously earning her Masters in Project Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management (Devry University). As part of her passion for learning, Lenora enjoys teaching others and helping them develop in their careers as professional project managers. As she puts it, “It’s very rewarding seeing the light bulb go on in a student’s head, and see their sense of confidence when they grasp the concept we’re talking about.” She makes it her mission to teach project management concepts and new ideas in fun and memorable ways.

Passionate Project Management takes a holistic view of the project management professional who is obtaining their credential, and presents the material in a logical, real-world manner. “Too many training companies out there do not devote appropriate attention and support for the training participant,” says Lenora. “I’m proud to work with a company that does.”

Lenora relocated from Chicago to Phoenix two years ago, and has devoted much time to the local PMI Phoenix Chapter, holding various chapter leadership positions. She was recently elected President Elect for 2012, and will assume the President position in 2013. Lenora and her husband, Brian, are enjoying winters without snow and icy temperatures. She has two college-age children, Michelle and Sean, who attend colleges in the Midwest.
