When deciding to pursue the PMP credential, many folks are not sure what the best method is to fully prepare themselves for the exam. Depending on your research, you will find that people have some very set opinions about PMP preparation. Bottom line, there is no ONE answer to which is best because it really depends on the individual: your learning style, finances, availability, urgency, etc.

If you are trying to decide what is best for you, here are some different approaches and the pros and cons. Again, at the end of the day, one is not better than the other, it's about what is going to work for YOU.

SELF-STUDY
Using various resources available, prepare yourself for the exam through a self-structured program. Our recommended resources: The PMBOK Guide, 4th Edition, a reputable self-study book, and practice exams (be sure to verify the quality of the self-study book and the exams - there are a lot of poor quality products out there, especially on the internet).
