At Passionate Project Management, we want to do everything we can to ensure that you are successful on your PMP, CAPM, PMI-RMP (Risk Management), or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) exam and ensure you understand the examination process.

1) Passionate Project Management does not recommend that you schedule your exam for the day after your boot camp completes. All of our courses include a final mock exam (taken after the end of class) that indicate your readiness and gaps. This information is critical to your success on the exam.

We find that many people underestimate the complexity of the information that will be provided during the boot camp. We strongly suggest that you allow yourself at least a few days to recover from the class and digest the feedback that has been provided to you.

Having said that, we, of course, suggest that you wait no longer than one month after your class to take your exam, so as not to lose the knowledge base.

And the winner is

It was a record turnout last week for the technical session at the PMI Phoenix chapter meeting. Our very own Belinda Fremouw was the guest speaker; the topic, "Risk Management: NOT an uncertain event".

At the session we collected contact info for all of the attendees to enter them into a drawing to give away a free seat in our upcoming PMI-RMP Exam Prep Training Course in Phoenix in July. That's right a FREE seat, a $1595 value!

We are very excited to announce that the winner of the free seat is..........(drum roll)..........Collen B.

We have contacted her to let her know and she is completely surprised and very excited to join us.

Keep an eye out for our future presentations at the Phoenix and other PMI chapter events. Our free seat giveaway looks like it might become a recurring event.

A project manager for more than five years, Bethany Warburton
was certain her first career as a congressional district director for the Republican party in MN laid the foundation for her to go into project management. Campaigning is the ultimate in high risk project management.

PPM: What makes you a passionate project manager?

I believe so strongly that a comprehensive communications plan should be a part of every single project plan. It is my mission to spread the gospel of communication!

PPM: What has been your greatest lesson learned in project management?

Humility! You can be ahead of schedule and closing in on the finish line and the unthinkable can and will happen.

PPM: What would be your top recommendations for someone preparing for the PMP?

Take Belinda's course. Seriously, that's my top recommendation.

pass-fail

As an exam prep provider, a common question we get from potential students is "What is your pass rate?".

At PPM we have a policy of transparency. We want our clients (current and perspective) to feel confident in their investment in an exam prep course from us and so we do publish our pass rates - just as do many other training companies. We stake our reputation on ours being accurate and up-to-date!

However, determining a pass rate isn't as easy as it seems.

Here's how we approach tracking our pass rates:

1. Prior to class, we encourage students to compete their PMI PMP application, have it submitted, and have the exam scheduled. There is a correlation between success rates and the amount of delay between the class and the actual exam.

2. During class we set expectations with our students. We have them contact us prior to taking the exam (so that we can validate readiness) and contact us after their exam with their results - pass or fail!

Rescheduling fees are a means to better serve certification candidates by allowing for greater seating availability at Prometric Testing Centers.

Donna Sugarman

A project manager for more than five years, Donna Sugarman reinvented herself eight years ago. Donna wanted to utilize her education in Business Management and unique skill sets that she developed in Sales to find a new challenge and exceptional opportunities for growth. Even as a child, she found herself lining up her toys and going to the grocery store with her mom to the ice cream freezer case putting all the flavors together in the case, yes, vanilla with vanilla, chocolate with chocolate, you get it...that is a "wow" memory for Donna. Clearly, organizing is her strength.

PPM: What makes you a passionate project manager?
My passion for people!!! Whether it is a leadership role, mentoring, coaching, solving problems or handling customers concerns, I am always amazed on how well we achieve our goals!
The hardest part of any project manager is getting people to do what they are assigned to do without having them report directly to you! It takes a certain finesse!
