Negativity? What Do You Think?

We like to have fun here at Passionate Project Management. We believe that's why we're effective and our students LOVE us! We have a great time and we love what we do. How can you beat that?

At Passionate Project Management, we have one mission: Do The Right Thing For The Students

We are willing to work hard and earn our stripes. Our reputation has grown not through advertising or bad-mouthing other companies, but by providing exceptional service and the highest quality exam prep products.

Which brings me to the reason for this blog post. We are very excited to be offering a number of different free webinars to the project management community. It's our way of giving back and helping make the exam process easier for everyone - whether or not they choose to participate in one of our classes or buy our products.

PPM's Passionate Project Manager of the Month: Linda Fiorenzano...

Congratulations to Linda Fiorenzano, PMP, on being selected our Passionate Project Manager of the Month for January!

A project manager for more than ten years, Linda Fiorenzano recently earned her PMP credential and is planning to pursue the Risk Management Professional next.

Professionally, Linda leads large scale Enterprise-wide projects that require software/technology implementations for financial institutions and manufacturing companies.

Personally, she runs her life like a project - from planning a wedding to completing the Christmas shopping.

PPM: What makes you a passionate project manager?

I believe in the process and, more importantly, the value of planning, executing, and monitoring a group of activities. I believe in the pursuit of excellence. Project Management concepts resonate with me both professionally and personally.

PPM: What has been your greatest lesson learned in project management?

PPM's Passionate Project Manager of the Month: Nick Curtis, PMP

2011-12 PMP of the Month

Congratulations to Nick Curtis, PMP, on being selected our Passionate Project Manager of the Month for December!

A project manager for more than three years, Nick Curtis recently earned his PMP credential and is planning to look into the Risk Management Professional certification in 2012.

Nick has worked for Philips Healthcare for almost 10 years now. He started out while still in college and has grown his career from there.

"I enjoy working for a great company, with great colleagues, and constantly being able to build on my skills and experience." said Nick.

PPM: What makes you a passionate project manager?

When you are passionate about the work you do, regardless of the role, you will never cut corners or skip steps. Keep the end goal always in sight and know the positive impact of the project you're working on.

I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to teach PMP exam prep. I loved being in the classroom, I loved project management, and I loved taking something complex and making it easy for people. So I jumped in with both feet, left my cushy corporate job and became a contract instructor.

Exam Prep boot camps are expensive. Buyer beware! Spend your money wisely!

We invite you to scan our QR code or pull up our record with the Better Business Bureau.

Some things you want to look at on a BBB file:

  • Does the company even have a file with the BBB?
  • Is the company accredited through the BBB?
  • What is their score? BBB offers an "A through F" scoring system
  • Do they have customer reviews on their BBB file? All companies may have complaints once and awhile, but EXCEPTIONAL companies also have customers who want to speak on their behalf.

Why Have an On-Site PMP Exam Prep Class?

While participating in an open-enrollment PMP exam prep class has its benefits, there is another option to consider: hosting an on-site PMP/CAPM exam prep class.

If you and at least three other co-workers / team members / associates are interested in pursuing a PMI certification, an on-site may be a better option:

1. Lower Cost
By hosting a PMP class at your location, the cost of the class is literally cut in half yet you are still getting the same materials and benefits.

2. Convenience
The class is held at your location, so no need to travel.

Here's the thing - exam prep courses cost a lot of money and trust me, this is one investment you only want to make once. If you are going to be spending 4 days in a classroom listening to a not-always entertaining topic, choose wisely!
